It is pretty much accepted by individuals and professionals alike, that a hobby like crafting can assist in the wellbeing of many people, and for many reasons, whether for mental wellness, recuperation, a coping mechanism, or just to keep pain at bay.

This became even more into focus during the Pandemic lock down, where lots more people found the art of creating some solace during a dark period.

One of the aspects that had the crafter focussed and engaged was with the TV shopping experience, where crafters old and new, allowed these products and individuals into their life, resulting in a community feel, alongside the Social Media platforms that already existed and have since popped up.

Most recently with financial events, one of the largest broadcasting players has left the marketplace and left a void for crafting brands & celebrities, as well as crafters alike. Commercially, losing that direct access to their lifeblood, brands have been trying to find new ways to reach the lifeline, that for them is their very existence.

This is where, in a very small way, the creators of this resource tool hopes to be able to give the crafter ways to directly engage with their favourite brands, celebs, products and influencers too.

As time has progressed developing this resource, it has become a useful tool for those who have completed their projects to give others an opportunity to see their wares. We have been proactively adding cottage industry listings where handcrafted unique items can also be viewed by clicking on their makers links to Facebook, websites and external sales sites.

We have added categorising icons to the 'Brands' and 'Pages' to allow the browser to obtain some sort of idea to the products on offer on the related links. Clearly there will be blurred lines as each brand may specialise in more than one craft, similarly 'paper-craft' or icon '📃' can describe card-making, mixed media, electronic cutting or paint/ink/resin art, and 'soft-craft' or icon '🧵' cover a myriad of crafts like, crochet, fabric, felting or knitting.

We do sincerely hope you can find some inspiring content or even new resources to ensure you can get the most from your hobby.

Oh, and please remember to have a trawl through the 'groups', some of these communities are an absolute treasure trove of talent, information and inspiration, whether dedicated to a specific brand, genre or general creativity, they are guaranteed to help get those creative juices flowing.
